International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) Jobs: Partnerships Director

IPPF is a global federation committed to promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights for all. We are a leading non-governmental organization working in sexual and reproductive health and rights in 182 countries, and have six regional offices in five continents.

The IPPF Africa Region (IPPFAR) consists of a network 42 in country affiliates (Member Associations) in sub-Saharan Africa.

We are seeking a qualified person for the position of Partnerships Director, based in our Africa Regional Office in Nairobi.

The Partnership department aims to achieve strong public, political and financial commitment for sexual and reproductive health and rights at national and regional levels.

The Partnerships Director will be responsible for the regional office’s external affairs including regional advocacy; supporting our Member Associations with national advocacy; overseeing the regional office’s resource mobilisation efforts; as well as IPPF ARO’s communications/publications.

The Partnerships Director together with a team of 4-5 advisors will build positive relationships and work closely with our key stakeholders, Member Associations; our Central Office in London, and relevant government agencies; inter-governmental organizations such as the African Union Commission, Regional Economic Communities, United Nations agencies and civil society organizations, in policy and programmatic advocacy to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights.

We are looking for someone with at least eight years work experience with extensive experience in delivering advocacy results and programmes, resource mobilisation, external affairs relations and communication for sexual and reproductive health and rights.

The successful candidate will have excellent management skills and a track record of delivering results.

The successful candidate will be committed to development issues, will be pro-choice and have a demonstrated track record of working collaboratively in a team-oriented, and highly demanding multi-cultural environment.

Fluency in English required but fluency in French is desirable. Working knowledge of Portuguese will also be an added advantage.

Competitive remuneration will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
