Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu Job Vacancies: Resident Paediatrician and Resident Anaesthetist

The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu is an institution of the Aga Khan Health Service, Kenya which is an agency of The Aga Khan Development Network.

The Hospital has affirmed its quality services by achieving ISO 9001:2008 accreditation, and is moving towards higher standards of quality and clinical excellence.

The hospital, experiencing increased demand for its services needs to create the following additional positions to meet this demand.

These are senior positions and the successful candidates would be expected to display passion for improving quality in their departments.

1. Resident Paediatrician

Overall Responsibilities

The suitable candidate will be responsible for the provision of quality comprehensive care to children both as outpatients and inpatients.

He/ She will also be expected to participate in the enhancement of maternal and child health services in the hospital.

The paediatrician will also actively participate in the development of a planned Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Requirements

  • MMed in Paediatrics from the University of Nairobi or Equivalent recognized institution.
  • At least two years post qualification working experience.
  • Must be registered/licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
  • Knowledge of PALS and experience in Neonatology will be an added advantage.
2. Resident Anaesthetist

Overall Responsibilities

The suitable candidate will be responsible for the management of the intensive Care Unit to support other medical staff in case of critically ill patients.

He/She will be responsible for ensuring best practice in the management of emergencies and critical cases.

Requirements
  • A holder of M.Med (Anaesthesiology) registered by the Kenya Medical practitioners & Dentist Board.
  • The candidate should have appropriate training in critical care medicine.
  • At least one year working experience in an ICU.
  • Possession of current ACLS certification will be an added advantage.
