World Vision Kenya Job Opportunities

World Vision Kenya is a leading non-governmental Christian humanitarian, relief, development and advocacy organization with projects in most parts of Kenya.

We wish to urgently recruit highly competent, proactive and self-driven peoples to fill the following position within our organization.

1. National Nutrition Coordinator

Purpose of the position:

* To provide the technical leadership and guidance needed to successfully support World Vision Kenya’s efforts to promote Nutrition in Kenya.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the successful development, elaboration and roll out of all Nutrition program elements in the National Office and Integrated Program Area strategic and operational plans that focus specifically on child well being
* Ensure quality, focus and feasibility in the development, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Nutrition in World Vision Kenya program interventions in integrated child development;
* Ensure that these interventions are designed and developed not only in alignment with a fully integrated three track ministry approach but also in compliance with WV, GOK, SPHERE and other accepted norms and standards;
* Provide and/or establish needed tools, methodological approaches, technical assistance, training / capacity building, DME support and accompanying business processes to ensure that program interventions in integrated child development achieve or surpass WV child well being objectives;
* Develop the successful development, elaboration and roll out of implementation strategies and operational guidelines in response to nutrition issues as in the child well being priorities;
* Support the consolidation of a learning culture - based upon evidenced based best practices and industry standards - to enable program staff to achieve and/or surpass established targets and standards and;

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* A Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, or similar fields. An advanced degree in Public Health, Community Health or related field will have an added advantage;
* A minimum of 7 years experience in child nutrition programming at the district/provincial/local authority and national levels;
* Knowledge of rapid assessment including ongoing contextual analysis;
* Experience in project design, proposal writing, needs assessment and surveys;
* Experience in support supervision, training and coaching staff in nutrition programming;
* Good understanding and working experience in development, advocacy and emergency affairs approaches.

2. National Design, Monitoring and Evaluation (DM&E) Coordinator

Purpose of the position:

* To effectively develop, lead and promote an enhanced culture of learning and discipline in the skills and practices of DME throughout World Vision Kenya.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide proactive and clear sectoral leadership across WVK for development and full coordination of all DM&E events, practices and learning;
* Design, coordinate and implement staff training programs around the DM&E standards, key LEAP components and other emerging trends in the field of DME;
* Support WVK initiatives for fundraising through new proposals and designs plus ensuring alignment and compliance to LEAP standards and other donor requirements;
* Contextualize the LEAP guidelines and standards for Design, Monitoring and Evaluation in all programming environments in WVK;
* Participate effectively with DM&E networks, practitioners and learning/research institutions to access, research, evaluate and promote the best available external practices and resources in DM&E;
* Ensure adherence of Integrated Program Areas’ (IPA’s) annual plans and budgets to WVK strategy and sector strategies;
* Support the development and adoption of a quality assurance system for WVK to ensure coordinated and coherent quality Assurance initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field: Community development, project planning and management, social sciences among other related disciplines. A Masters Degree will have an added advantage;
* At least seven (7) years of extensive field level experience;
* Good understanding and working experience of development, advocacy and emergency affairs approaches;
* Thorough understanding and experience in Research methodologies;
* High-level expertise in Results-Based management, Logical Framework Analysis, and Result-Based Performance Monitoring and Evaluation;
* Understanding and experience of engaging, working and managing consultants especially in baseline and evaluation exercises;
* Strong commitment to WV Values, Mission and Vision.

3. Design, Monitoring and Evaluation (DM&E) Officer – Food Aid

Purpose of the position:

* To support and ensure the successful implementation of all Food Aid Monitoring, Reporting, and Evaluation within the branches, and directly contribute to the attainment of proposed child well being outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide innovative and programmatic leadership, effective technical and timely administrative support for all Food aid Programming in the two Branches;
* Ensure that DME related activities regarding measurements, design, redesign, monitoring, evaluations are successfully implemented;
* Lead monitoring efforts of all Food Aid Projects to ensure full compliance or in excess of partnership and international standards;
* Ensure the implementation and use of quality program monitoring framework and reporting, formats and proposal review systems for Food Aid Projects;
* Ensure the appropriate use of information management systems for all the Food Aid Projects in order to enhance and inform design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation activities;
* Establish and develop a good working relationship with all key stakeholders in food aid programming in Kenya;
* Ensure periodic Reviews of Food Aid projects to track progress and recommend appropriate changes to ensure project meet the stated objectives;
* Ensure production of well-designed proposals that are reflective of community needs and contexts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* A degree related to the science and practice of community development, program design, statistics and evaluation;
* 3-5 years experience in M&E positions including participatory research and impact measurement;
* Experience in working on donor funded programs and managing projects;
* Demonstrated understanding of quality assurance systems, and continuous improvement, with particular emphasis on integration of accountability measures into all aspects of the project cycle;
* Empirical knowledge of humanitarian codes, principles and practice;
* Good team player, self starter, has ability to work under minimum supervision and maintain good relationships;
* Strong commitment to WV Values, Mission and Vision.
