Value Chain Experts, East Africa
We are currently seeking value chain experts for potential upcoming multiyear projects with an emphasis on agricultural development in East Africa.

Value Chain Experts, East Africa
We are currently seeking value chain experts for potential upcoming multiyear projects with an emphasis on agricultural development in East Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance in one or more of the following areas:
- Value chain development and analysis and improving market linkages
- Staple crop value chains and other key commodity value chains
- Horticulture value chains (specialty crops such as cocoa, coffee, spice, cereals, etc.)
- Value chain finance, SME finance, competitiveness, business-enabling environments, marketing associations
- Assist with the development of demonstration plots, field days and/or business fairs that foster public/private sector relationships.
- Strengthen smallholders’ and producer organizations’ ability to link with private sector firms.
- Provide trainings in post-harvest handling, quality standards and various agronomic practices.
- Establish linkages between smallholder farmers and large- and small-scale traders to improve farm-to-market transactions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in one or more of the technical disciplines listed above
- University degree in a relevant field (advanced degree is preferred)
- Experience with international and/or regional NGOs, donor agencies, agribusiness organizations, financial institutions and/or agricultural ministries are preferred.
- Excellent written and spoken English is required.
- Fluency in regional dialects (e.g., Kiswahili, Chichewa, French, Juba Arabic) are preferred.
- Experience working with warehouse receipts or inventory credit programs is preferred.
- Experience working in East Africa is required.
