Internal Audit Officer
Reporting to the Internal Auditor, the Key Responsibilities of the selected candidate will include:
- Conducting regular audits to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of operations, compliance with policies, procedures and best practice and that NSE’s risk management procedures are in place and working;
- Preparing draft reports for review by the Internal Auditor;
- Conducting a review of the company’s Information Systems Control procedures for their adequacy, effectiveness and reliability; ensuring that the Exchange’s information and assets are properly managed and safeguarded against loss;
- Conducting follow up of Internal and external auditors’ recommendations to ensure they are promptly implemented;
- Conducting special reviews and investigations as and when requested by the Internal Auditor; and
- Performing any other audit related tasks as directed by the Internal Auditor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a business- related field.
- Be a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Be a fully qualified accountant CPA (K), ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years internal audit experience preferably in the financial services sector.
Key Competencies:
- Good knowledge and understanding of internal audit including a broad knowledge of international trends in auditing.
- Have a working knowledge of financial information systems.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Sound analytical skills.
- Ability to keep abreast of evolving trends in auditing through continuing professional development.
- Demonstrate proficiency in IT particularly computer assisted audit techniques.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information and to ensure absolute discretion and sensitivity to confidential matters
