Role:
- To co-ordinate community outreach activities, health education, staff training and commodity accountability of the community-based therapeutic program
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Management of OTP, SFP and SC in the areas of operation.
- Ensure accurate accountability of food commodities.
- Train staff on health education and other health and nutrition issues
- Ensure proper storage of food commodities at the health facilities and other outreach sites.
- Ensure field reports are submitted in time
- Train staff on active case finding of malnourished children and ensure proper referrals being made.
- Shall participate in staff training in liaison with field nutritionist and nutrition officer
- Supervise community screenings & referrals. Provide follow-up trainings for community health workers /volunteers.
- Coordinate follow up of programme absentees, defaulters, deaths and children “at risk” and accuracy of anthropometric/MUAC measurements
- Evaluate effectiveness of the follow-up system in all the OTP/SFP sites
- Supervise and support the activities of the outreach workers on a regular basis, which includes regular travel to the community.
- Ensure liaison of the outreach activities with Ministry of Health institutions (where applicable)
- Collaborate with other agencies, team members and particularly MOH/OTP supervisors in sharing information and ideas to ensure that the implementation of the outreach programme compliments other emergency and development activities within the programme.
- Works as part of the overall CTC team.
- In collaboration with the field nutritionist, ensure distribution plans for all the areas of operation are prepared and approved in advance to enhance efficient field operations.
- Ensure that names of families in SFP in all divisions are linked to general food distribution.
- In consultation with team leaders ,plan logistics for the field teams to ensure cost effectiveness of operations
- Attend and participate in daily and weekly chapel and devotional meetings.
- Carry out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the office of Nutrition manager or his designee.

- Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
- Attend and participate/lead in daily devotions
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education,
prior experience or on-the-job training:

- A degree in nutrition sciences, public health or food security
- Possess and demonstrate basic IT skills, and excellent report writing skills
- Experience in implementing food aid programmes or nutrition programs and in managing development and /or emergency programmes.
- Skilled in monitoring and evaluation
- The ability to work within a team, on ones own initiative with minimum supervision, and excellent communication skills will also be essential
