- In collaboration with the executive, operations, technical and group commercial teams plan, develop and implement commercial operational strategy which aligns the companies and its customers plans to a our supply base to deliver long term sustainable competitive advantage, growth and profitability. This will involve working closely with both our own production and processing teams and also strategic outgrowers supply partners in Africa.
- Through effective communication, mentoring and team management, lead, manage and motivate staff to ensure robust best practice operations are developed, agreed, shared and implemented, aligned to the groups plans and wider customer requirements.
- To contribute as board member to the executive management of the company and to promote a culture that enables people to think, be stimulated, enjoy what they do and that they feel being a member of the Homegrown and Finlay’s team is of value to them.
The person:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications / competencies:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications / competencies:
- 10 years senior management experience devising and implementing business-relevant customer focused commercial strategy preferably within a large company.
- The depth of experience and skills should be such that sound people management and line management functional competence can be taken for granted.
- Self-reliant and self motivated, being energetic and positive with a hands on and energetic approach in seeing things through to completion.
- Highly computer literate with good project management skills. Able to structure a plan, marshal resources, work as a team and deliver on commitments.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills: persuasive and with the gravitas to gain senior management confidence
- Will be a graduate or of graduate calibre and experience of European retail markets in the horticultural or related sector will be of great benefit.
