Animal Health Fieled Assistant - Arid and Marginal Recovery Project Job: CARE Kenya

CARE International in Kenya is looking for a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of Field Assistant- Animal Health within its Arid and Marginal Recovery Project in Northern Kenya.

The project has a component of Animal Health and Livestock Production aimed at increasing access to quality Animal Health and Production services among the pastoralist.

This is expected to increase access to Animal Health services, livestock market and developing alternative and complementary livelihood strategies, addition to strengthening the community resilience to shocks.

The position is based in Moyale and the candidate will report to the project Co-ordinator Arid and Marginal Recovery Project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure quality data collected on animal health and Livestock production activities.
  • Participate in the trainings of Animal health, PPG's trainings and other groups engaged in alternative livelihoods.
  • Planning and organizing project related meetings as appropriate with communities.
  • Arrange/co-ordinate workshop for the project and provide logistic support during the workshops as required.
  • Make and submit monthly filed reports and share the same with the supervisor.
  • Monitoring specific project activities in the areas of Animal health and Livestock production.
Qualification
  • Diploma in Animal Health and Production.
  • At least two years experience in community development work and alternative/ complementary livelihood support.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and report writing skills
  • Good facilitation skills
  • Must be self motivated and reliable person who can work with minimal supervision
  • Must be computer literate
  • Knowledge of the local language is added advantage (Somalia/ Borana)
