Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Jobs: Senior Information Technology Officer (Networks), Assistant Engineer and Senior Technician (Mechanical)

1) Senior Information Technology Officer (Networks)

Applicants must have a degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a recognized university and a minimum of eight (8) years experience of which the last 4 years must have been in managing a large network in a busy environment.

Demonstrated success in delivering large and complex ICT projects is a must.

Solid understanding and vendor certification in a range of the Company's supported network platforms is a must.

Demonstrated experience in installing and configuring new servers, desktops, PCs and network devices, and peripheral equipment is required.

Must be able to provide technical training to end users and have good interpersonal and team leadership skills.

Knowledge of designing and implementing VPN's, network security and commercial network management systems is a definite advantage.

The successful candidate will be the lead technical specialist in managing the Company's ICT landscape comprising servers, desktops and networks in line with business demands.

The Officer will be involved in the procurement of new hardware, rolling out new installations, creating and maintaining standardized OS disk images for new installations, ensuring that licenses are available, maintaining standards for server and network installations, monitoring the availability and performance of the network, testing for security weaknesses and applying relevant fixes.

The Officer will provide tier-3 technical support and work with vendors to resolve complex network problems and manage a team of network analysts, system administrators and hardware engineers and technicians.

2) Assistant Engineer (Instrumentation and Communication)

Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Electronics (light current option) or Telecommunications Engineering from a recognized University and must be registered by the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya or the Institute of Engineers of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer or Member of a Professional Engineering body recognized by the Institution.

They must be computer literate and have a minimum working experience of seven (7) years.

Knowledge of PLC, SCADA and Fibre Optic Cable Systems will be an added advantage.

The successful candidate will be involved in design, installation and general maintenance activities of the system in the area of specialization.

He/She will assist in the formulation and review of sound maintenance policies and be able to handle projects of the Company.

3) Senior Technician (Mechanical)

Applicants must be in possession of a Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Plant option) from a National Polytechnic or other recognized Institution.

In addition, they must have five (5) years working experience in a busy engineering environment preferably in Oil, Paper, Sugar, Dairy or Tea Industry.

The successful candidate will be expected to detect and carry out repairs on the pipeline in conjunction with other functional officers.

The officers at this level will be expected to work with minimum guidance and may assist in the general administration of the maintenance unit in a pump station.

4) Technician III (Mechanical)

Applicants must be in possession of a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Plant option) from a National polytechnic or other recognized Institution.

They must have a minimum of three (3) years working experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician in a large organization handling various productions equipment.

The successful candidate will assist in implementing the maintenance programs as appropriate.

His/her specific duties will involve carrying out preventive rid breakdown maintenance under close supervision of the senior technical staff.
