Position: CLINICAL LABORATORY MANAGER (1 position) Kemri jobs & Careers.
Position description: Serves as the Supervisory Medical Technologist with responsibility for planning, organizing, controlling, and managing all activities of the clinical laboratory located at WRP Kombewa facility.
Specific areas of responsibility include hematology/clinical chemistry, serology, clinical microbiology and malaria microscopy sections. This position requires high level administrative and scientific skills.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must be a holder of Higher National Diploma or a bachelor’s
degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences
• Must be registered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory
Technologist & Technicians Board (KMLTTB)
• At least 3 years experience as a supervisor/manager in a busy clinical laboratory
• computer skills
DESIRABLE QUALITIES
• Knowledge in Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) is required
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Good knowledge of laboratory standard operating procedures (SOP) and safety practices
• Good knowledge of laboratory documentation, record keeping
and inventory management
• Excellent written/oral communication, interpersonal and organization skills
• Excellent skills in running a modern laboratory automats, and managing laboratory needs is essential
• Excellent skills in quality assurance and control in clinical laboratory
