German Agro Action jobs in Kenya

PROJECT: Environmental Conservation and Poverty Reduction in Makueni District Welthungerhilfe / German Agro Action implements a poverty reduction project in Makueni District. This project is funded by the European Union.

We are looking for qualified personnel to strengthen our team:
A. Community Mobilizer / Trainer for Gender and Organisational Development
B. Community Mobilizer / Trainer for Soil and Water Resources Management

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A.
•Carry out awareness and capacity building in gender and the rights of women and youths
• Mainstreaming a gender equality approach in all aspects of the project
• Capacity building of SHGs/CBOs in organizational management
• Facilitation of advocacy processes at community level
B.
• Capacity building of communities in integrated soil and water resources management
• Develop, implement and follow-up all technical aspects of the soil and water management component of the project

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & PROFILE
A.
• A university degree in gender studies, social work, community development, social sciences or related areas
• A solid understanding of development, with focus on participatory processes, SHG/CBO management, and gender issues
• A good understanding of organizational development capacities at community level in areas such as resources management, participatory processes, leadership, project management, communication and fund raising
B.
• A university or technical college degree with related experience, preferably in the field of agricultural engineering, soil and water resource management or agricultural development
• Good training skills and experience in participatory training methods

For both positions:
• Conversant with IT and good skills in documentation and reporting
• Fluent in English and Kikamba
