- Check patrons' identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
- Escort customers to their tables and inform them of daily specials.
- Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
- Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.
- Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning.
- Serve food and/or beverages to patrons; prepare and serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
- Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
Qualification
- Diploma in Hotel management, Catering or Front office.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a restaurant as a Waiter/Waitress.
- Experience working in Major hotels and tourist lodges an advantage.
- Should be presentable with an outgoing personality

- Analyzing and planning restaurant sales levels and profitability.
- Preparing reports at the end of the shift/week, including staff control, food control and sales.
- Creating and executing plans for department sales, profit and staff development.
- Planning and coordinating menus by consulting with chefs; estimates food costs and profits.
- Coordinating the entire operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts.
- Managing staff throughout their shift and providing them with feedback.
- Responding to customer complaints;
- Ensuring that all employees adhere to the company’s uniform standards.
- Meeting and greeting customers and organizing table reservations.
- Advising customers on menu and wine choice;
- Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
- Checking stock levels and ordering supplies.
- Degree/ Higher diploma in Hospitality management, Catering or any Business related course.
- Minimum 2 years Practical experience in the hospitality industry preferably in a management or supervisory level.
- Experience working in Major hotels or tourist lodges an advantage.
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- The ability to cope under pressure and problem-solving ability.
- Good business awareness and strong organizational skills.
