Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree or its equivalent in the relevant discipline from a
recognized university.
In addition the applicant must have at least five (5) years of University teaching, as a lecturer.
In addition, applicants should have successfully supervised at least two (2) Masters Students or one (1) PhD student since being appointed as Lecturer.
The applicant should also show evidence of continued research including having published at least three (3) articles in referred journals or one(1) article in a referred journal plus one (1) book by a reputable publisher since being appointed Lecturer.
They should show evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching and evidence of attendance and contribution at learned Conferences.
2. Lectures

Applicants in Biological sciences must be in the areas of Genetics and Plant Physiology, Agricultural Entomology or Animal Physiology.
Applicants in Islamic studies must have lectured at the university level in Quran, Hadith, Shariah (Law), Islamic history and comparative religion. Arabic language would be an added advantage
Applicants in Christian studies must have lectured at the university level in the Bible, New
and Old Testament, Christian ethics, philosophy of religion, church history and comparative
religion.
Applicant must be holders of a PhD degree in the related area from a recognized University or have successfully defended there PhD thesis.
Holders of Master’s degree may also be considered on condition that they meet the following requirements:
Applicants in Islamic studies must have lectured at the university level in Quran, Hadith, Shariah (Law), Islamic history and comparative religion. Arabic language would be an added advantage
Applicants in Christian studies must have lectured at the university level in the Bible, New
and Old Testament, Christian ethics, philosophy of religion, church history and comparative
religion.
Applicant must be holders of a PhD degree in the related area from a recognized University or have successfully defended there PhD thesis.
Holders of Master’s degree may also be considered on condition that they meet the following requirements:
- Registered for PhD degree and has shown satisfactory progress (Completed at least 50% of the core chapters approved by the supervisors).
- Presented at least three (3) seminar papers or has two publications in refereed journals or a university level book by reputable publisher.
- Must have full time university teaching experience as tutorial fellow or assistant lecturer for at least three (3) years.
Terms of service for posts include membership to a pension scheme, house allowance, medical cover and commuting allowance.
