Network/Systems Manager

Position Description:
Currently, KENCALL EPZ LTD is seeking a qualified candidate to join their team as a Network/Systems Manager. This opportunity is a position to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Responsibilities:
You will have overall responsibility for the maintainance of network systems and services, ensuring service levels are sustained, including servers, routers, switches, firewall, VPN, VoIP, other IP devices, as well as all critical applications by installing, upgrading, configuring and troubleshooting as required.
You shall be responsible for the data base administration, networking and hardware trouble shooting, liasoning with the outside vendors for software & hardware related issues. Other responsibilities will include:

Looking after IT Security, Infrastructure Management, Networking (LAN & WAN) of the company.
Co-ordination with the IT department and other related workforce
Planning, monitoring, scheduling the up gradation work, collating feedback
Troubleshooting the application, Hardware, Network and Software problems.
Thorough communication and presentation skills working with IT Management, regularly check the IT infrastructure for potential problems/issues/bottlenecks, single points of failure and make recommendations for resolution to the Head of IT.
Contribute to the identification and recommendation of working/technical procedures, quality of service and operational effectiveness of the IT department and report these findings back to the Head of IT at regular intervals
Coordinating work throughout the department and perform an overview check of each day's system administration results and, where necessary, research, resolve and report any potential issues to the IT Management.
Managing all contractual deadlines and make recommendations to the Head of IT for their renewal

Candidate Requirements:
You will need a proactive approach to the development, enhancement of procedures and/or methodologies to achieve optimum performance, delivery and continuity of Information Services.
At least 3 years of experience in a managerial position is an added advantage.
Good Knowledge in Computer Hardware and Networking (LAN, WAN, Internet, VoIP).
Be flexible regarding working hours during busy periods, weekend maintenance or during network problems/outages in order to meet deadlines and as a point of escalation for all IT issues.
The candidate should have at least 2 yrs of total experience & able to handle team of 10-15 members.
