Job Summary
Senior Program Officer is a technical position responsible for program/project development and management tasks in the sectors of Education, Youth Development (including skills training and employment promotion) and Child Protection.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop/review sector strategies for selected program themes of the organisation
- Organise and/or conduct baseline surveys for purpose of project development and establishing knowledge base
- Undertake participatory project/program development tasks including facilitating planning sessions, writing up of quality concept notes and proposals
- Develop/review project management frameworks including monitoring and evaluation systems/tools for programs implemented by Save the Children and its consortium partners
- Ensure that projects are regularly monitored, lessons are documented and shared
- Establish and apply efficient grants management system for the Country Program
- Ensure that periodic project/program financial and technical reports are produced and submitted to donors as per requirements
- Organise project/program reviews and evaluations
- Network with other like-minded agencies for coordinating and learning
Person Specification
- Master or equivalent degree in development studies, development management, education planning, economics, sociology or related disciplines of Social Sciences
- Substantial experience in project/program development and management
- Experience in computerised grant management; excellent communication and facilitation skills in written and spoken English
- Good personal organizational skills, including time management prioritization and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Salary: As per organisation’s scale
