Our client, Ruiru-Juja Water and Sewerage Company (RUJWASCO) Ltd., is a Water Service Provider based in Ruiru Town, mandated to provide water and sewerage services in its area of jurisdiction.
Our client is seeking to recruit a dynamic and results oriented professional for the above position.
Position Scope
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director will provide leadership, deliver short and long-term objectives and manage strategy implementation in accordance with the Boards' decisions.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
As the Chief Executive Officer, the Managing Director shall be responsible for:
- Providing leadership in the development and implementation of the Company's strategic plans.
- Preparing annual business plans that demonstrate approaches to meeting specific targets for profit and shareholder returns.
- Advising the Board on the Company's performance.
- Coordinating and implementing corporate strategies in line with the Board approved policies.
- Ensuring effective mobilization and utilization of water and sewerage resources.
- Providing strategic direction on new investments, business opportunities and change initiatives.
- Nurturing the Company's human resources and ensuring that appropriate management structures and policies are developed and implemented.
- Safeguarding the assets of the company.
- Ensuring regular, prompt and accurate preparation of financial reports.
- Promoting sound corporate governance and ethical standards.
- Formulating performance targets and developing initiatives to measure and reward high performance among staff.
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Water Engineering and registration as an Engineer.
- Possession of a Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
- Five years relevant working experience in a busy water utility environment, with three of these years being at a Senior Management level.
- Practical experience in water project formulation, implementation and evaluation is a must.
- Outstanding leadership, analytical and commercial skills and entrepreneurial approach to business.
- Interpersonal relations, communication skills and an ability to work successfully at Board level is essential.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Auto-Cad and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must NOT exceed 42 years of age.
An attractive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position will be negotiated with the right candidate. Employment will be offered on a three-year renewable contract, dependent on performance.
