Kenya Broadcasting Corporation Kenya Jobs

The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation seeks to recruit creative, innovative, self driven and results oriented professionals to fill the following senior positions in its establishment:

1) MANAGER TECHNICAL SERVICES - SS BE 2

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director, the officer will be responsible for the following:-

  • Development and Implementation of a Broadcast Strategy in line with the National and International guidelines
  • Overall Coordination of all Technical activities of Television Technical and Radio Technical functions of the Corporation including Financial Control, Stores, Staff Discipline, Training and Development
  • Evaluation and maintenance of all types of Broadcasting equipment
  • Development and implementation of short and long term strategies of all Television and Radio technical projects
  • Alignment of Broadcast Engineering Investment with Modern Technological developments
  • Development and Implementation of a Disaster Recovery and Business continuity strategy for the Corporation
  • •Integration of Television and Radio on a technologically sound Infrastructure
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Broadcast Engineering or any other relevant degree. A Masters degree will be an added advantage.
  • At lease five (5) years practical experience in an automated media environment with digital broadcast and conversant with media legislation, digital divide, multimedia/web services, convergence of technologies and technological trends in the media industry,
  • Have demonstrated a high standard of professional competence and administrative ability required for direction and coordination of Planning, Development and Maintenance of Engineering services, and
  • Must be a registered member of Engineering Registration Board of Kenya or any other recognized Engineering Body.
2) INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) MANAGER - SS BE 3

Duties & Responsibilities
The Information Technology Manager shall be responsible for and manage all the Information Technology functions of the Corporation. Successful candidate should be able to audit all Information Systems at the Corporation to ensure that there are no loopholes or weaknesses that can put the Corporation in a vulnerable position.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Formulation. Implementation and Monitoring of all IT policies, standards and procedures of the Corporation
  • Development, Deployment and Management of IT driven Business Systems in line with the Digital Broadcasting Technology
  • Development and implementation of Innovation revenue generating products in tandem with changing Technological trends
  • Planning and scheduling of all activities in the IT Unit and ensuring that they are completed within specified deadlines and budgets
  • Ensure that information systems security, integrity and availability is maintained to highest standards
  • Development and implementation of procedures for disaster recovery to ensure high level of systems resilience
  • Set and monitor computerization policies, standards and procedures within the framework review of the Corporation's policies and regulations
  • Management of the Website, Internet, Local and Wide Area Network
Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or a related field
  • An MBA Degree and CISA Certification will be added advantages
  • Must have at least five (5) years experience in IT field, of which three (3) must be at a Senior Management level in a reputable organization
  • Must demonstrate professional competence, high degree of integrity and maturity, and ability to make quick decisions.
3) CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT MECHANICAL RIGGER - SS BA 2

Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Assistant Manager Technical Services (Radio), the officer will be responsible for the following:
  • Preparation of broadcast towers/masts, basic technical specifications, and cost estimates
  • Continuous maintenance of broadcast towers and installed antenna systems
  • Determination of necessary site conditions for tower locations in consultation with Telecommunication Engineers
  • Proper interpretation of manufacturers' tower designs and overseeing compliance during the construction of towers
  • Preparation of tower hardware and accessories necessary for the installation of antennas
  • Offering leadership to the rigging crews, ensuring execution of projects safely and according to specifications
  • Providing induction and development of professional skills for officers working under him/her
  • Formulation of safety regulations and ensuring their enforcements.
Requirements
  • Either Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 8 years experience in rigging or broadcast duties OR Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with over 10 years experience in rigging or related duties
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • A team player with ability to enhance effective working relations
  • Hands-on technical training and problem-solving skills
  • Good knowledge of relevant broadcast policies
4) SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR (IT SYSTEMS AUDIT) - SS BA 3

Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the officer will be responsible for the following:
  • Auditing the Corporation's Information Systems
  • Conducting independent information systems audits and identifying control associated risks and recommending remedial action
  • Evaluating business applications and operating systems
  • Providing support for complex data analysis and extraction
  • Monitoring audit trails
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent
  • At least CPA Part II
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • At least three (3) years of proven experience in an automated environment.
5) PERSONAL SECRETARY - SS BA 5

Duties & Responsibilities
A suitably qualified individual with vast experience and strong personality who can run and manage a Senior office independently. The officer will be expected to perform , all Secretarial functions. The officer will also be required to manage the assigned office and organize Board of Directors and Senior Management meetings.

Requirements
  • Full Secretarial qualifications offered by KNEC or its equivalent. A relevant Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Secretarial Studies will be an added advantage
  • Must have strong computer skills
  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience in a reputable organization.
  • Experience in a reputable Law Firm/Office will be an added advantage.
