Kenyan banking industry is set to undergo a major transition with the establishment of a system for sharing credit information among banks and other credit providers.
Following passage of the necessary legal and regulatory changes, the Kenya Bankers Association "(KBA) and the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) have formed a Joint KBA/CBK Taskforce to drive the implementation of the new system.
The Task force, in partnership with FSD Kenya, Is seeking m exceptional individual to lead this high profile initiative and provide day-to-day leadership to this process by helping the sector plan for the new system.
Project Head - Kenya Credit Information Implementation Project
You will be responsible for putting the project on track to achieve the long-term vision of participation by all credit providers in a system which shares both negative and positive information.
Working with senior executives across the banks you’ll ensure that all the institutions have a roadmap to compliance with the new requirements by:
- developing and implementing pilots to ensure that the system is ready for roll-out;
- identifying potential obstacles in the current legal and regulatory framework and seeking changes as necessary,
- developing a sound credit information sharing system in the county; and,
- developing and implementing an effective communication strategy to stakeholders, both within the industry and the public at large
We wish to discuss this position with individuals with the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- A first degree and a relevant professional qualification
- A track record of impactful project management of no less than three years,,
- At least eight years experience of working within in the financial sector
- Excellent presentation skills
- Entrepreneurial ski, a results orientation and a positive attitude towards challenge
- A passion for making a real difference to the financial sector in Kenya
