Kenya Association of Manufacturers Positions Vacant

Kenya Association of Manufacturers, the premier representative organization for the manufacturing sector in Kenya wishes to fill the following positions at its Secretariat. All positions will report to the Senior Executive Officer, Membership Support and Development Unit.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER - ENERGY SERVICES

The position calls for a highly result-oriented, independent team player with an open-mind and a self-starter ready to learn.

Working alongside a capable team at the Centre for Energy Efficiency and Conservation (CEEC), the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that energy issues receive the requisite attention to the benefit of consumers, assist consumers to implement energy conservation measures in order to make profitable use of energy and thus improve their bottom lines.

S/he should also be able to leverage his or her experience to deliver and expand the scope of energy efficiency as an excellent business benefit for end users.

The successful candidate should have a University degree in Engineering from a recognized institution and a minimum five years of professional working experience preferably in industry.

Training in Energy Management will be an added advantage. S/he should possess good analytical and writing skills, be computer proficient and have strong presentation and communication skills with customer focus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Energy Advisor in providing key support on energy efficiency for the benefit of industry and other target sectors;
  • Verify requests for energy audits and determine the potential for energy saving;
  • Conduct follow-up visits to audited companies so as to facilitate implementation;
  • Assist the Energy Advisor in advising on technical issues related to firm level interventions and the Energy Management Award undertaken by CEEC
  • Responding to queries raised by members on the energy efficiency related issues;
  • Conduct various Energy efficiency related studies and analytical documentation of the study results;
  • Assist in expanding the scope of the CEEC so as to create more awareness on energy efficiency;
  • Assist industry to link up with Energy service providers to facilitate energy audits and support implementation of energy efficiency projects in their facilities;
  • Maintain information database on energy efficiency;
  • Organise and facilitate meetings with relevant committees/councils and ensuring follow up of agreed actions;
  • Representing KAM at energy efficiency related meetings.
ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE OFFICER - MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

The right candidate should possess a University degree in Sales and Marketing, have good customer relations and communication skills, and demonstrate good knowledge of current business issues and the Kenyan business environment. An understanding of the manufacturing sector will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify prospective member companies and recruit them into the Association
  • Update the register of prospective members and follow up on them regularly
  • Organize membership recruitment forums
  • Maintain a datable of prospective members
  • Manage the members account management records to ensure visits are conducted on the member companies
  • Attend various forums to identify prospective members
  • Ensure new members are inducted into the Association's activities
  • Contact inactive members and ensure that they remain engaged
  • Manage membership retention by conducting clients calls and following up on their issues of concern
  • Any other duties as may be allocated by the SEO, other Executive officers or the Chief Executive.
ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE OFFICER - IT SUPPORT

The objective is to ensure the smooth running and expansion of the Office Information System in a manner that supports effective internal and external communication through appropriate IT infrastructure and user support for the Secretariat work.

Competence Level:
The right candidate should be aged between 25 - 30 years, possess a university degree in Computer Science / Business Information Technology or equivalent, and have a minimum IT experience of 2 - 3 years in a networked business environment. S/he should have training and experience in Networking, Windows servers, HP hardware, and Microsoft Windows applications. Expertise in database management, website programming and good user support skills will be an asset.

Key Tasks:
  • Basic network administration
  • Helpdesk for users
  • Ensuring regular system back up
  • Troubleshooting network, hardware and software problems
  • Application software support and upgrades
  • Hardware maintenance for servers, desktops and other network equipment
  • Liaising with the ISP on internet connectivity
  • Assisting in management and improving of members database
  • Assisting in designing and updating the website
  • Assisting in procurement of IT equipment
  • Knowledge of design software e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw etc.
  • Deal with ICT Policy issues
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
