Assistant Director, Global Access

c £40,000 Based in Botswana or Kenya, with significant international travel

GALVmed (Global Alliance for Livestock Veterinary Medicines) is a unique, not-for-profit, stable and well funded organisation committed to creating sustainable solutions to poverty amongst the world's poorest livestock keepers.

Brokering ground-breaking partnerships on a global scale, GALVmed aims to drive and support the development, registration and sustainable delivery of Animal Health products. "Global Access" is defined as the pathways by which GALVmed's products are made accessible and affordable to poor livestock keepers.

This important and unique role links the technical research and development of GALVmed and its partners to all aspects of product delivery.

Interested? If you have.
  • A degree, with post-graduate qualification and a minimum 3 years experience in Life Science or Animal Health
  • International experience and understanding of product delivery within the international development context, especially in the developing world
  • Experience in design and evaluation of product markets and market chains from either the for-profit or not-for-profit sector
  • Understanding of regulatory and policy issues around product markets, especially in developing countries
  • An understanding of Policy & Advocacy within a multi-cultural, developmental setting • Excellent diplomatic, negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to effectively communicate, lobby and negotiate for the pro poor agenda Excellent written & verbal presentation skills

Research and Development Project Manager

Brokering ground-breaking partnerships on a global scale, GALVmed aims to drive and support the development, registration and sustainable delivery of Animal Health products that meet the needs of the world's poorest livestock keepers.

We are now seeking an experienced R & D Project Manager to co-ordinate and lead the activities of our African based projects.

Interested? If you have.....
  • An MSc in Biological Sciences or a Veterinary degree, with post-graduate qualification and a minimum 3 years experience in Animal Health, preferably in product development or evaluation
  • An attention to detail second to none yet never losing sight of the big picture upon which your role and your projects impact
  • Multi-cultural and scientific negotiating, influencing and people skills Excellent written & verbal presentation skills and a Microsoft Project user or similar and experience of: working in the developing world, preferably Africa and in the development and registration of Animal Health products, ideally in industry leading successful projects in a multi-national scientific environment sound team leadership and effectively managing budgets working in a matrix management environment
