M-Pesa Product Developer Safaricom Job

The M-PESA department within Safarlcom Limited is responsible for the roll out and operation of the M-F product. To build on the existing team of professionals, the department is now looking to fill the position above.

Reporting to the Head of Department M-PESA within the New Products Division, the M-PESA Product Developer will be responsible for delivery of new M-PESA functionality to the market and enhancement of the existing product. This role requires a highly innovative individual, who will be instrumental in ensuring M-PESA in Kenya remains the world's most innovative money transfer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the M-PESA roadmap to ensure timely delivery of relevant functionality to Safaricom customers.
• Deliver to market, new and exciting functionality related to customer needs through effective end-to-end Project Management including requirements gathering, testing, product launch and where necessary pilot programs.
• Liaise with internal & external stakeholders to ensure new product functionalities, processes and systems are relevant, timely & explicit.
• Provide product support to internal customers on system changes.
• Manage efficient resolution of any functionality related matters.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in a Technical field - Bsc. Electrical Engineering, IT or Computer Science.
• Project Management certification - PMP / PMI or its equivalent will be an added advantage.
• 8 years work experience of which 2 years must be in a managerial role.
• Work experience in telecommunications environment at line management or senior engineer level.
• Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good understanding of financial principles.
• Good understanding of the Kenyan Market, subscriber preferences and trends.
• A highly innovative, creative, results oriented individual with excellent analytical skills.
• Attention to detail with good organizational, planning, report writing and presentation skills.
• Proactive, confident, energetic with the ability to work under pressure on tight schedules.
• A proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
