Monitoring And Evaluation Specialist
The Southern Sudan Interactive Radio Instruction (SSIRI) Project is part of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Department of Alternative Education Systems. SSIRI develops and broadcasts radio programs to improve education throughout Southern Sudan and the Three Areas. The major programs are The Learning Village for primary schools, Terbia English programs, and Professional Studies for Teacher. SSIRI is administered by EDC and funded by USAID.To improve its programming in South Sudan, EDC wishes to recruit a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist.
The M & E Specialist wilt be responsible for:
- Design, setup and implement all monitoring and evaluation systems for the learning village, Terbia and PST.
- Ensure timely monitoring data is collected.
- Train SSIRI and partner staff in M&E related activities to ensure consistency and quality data collection.
- Train and supervise data collectors especially for summative evaluations for IRI programs.
- Organize and analyze data received and make recommendations based on outcomes.
- Collaborate with Southern Sudanese Ministry of Education, Science and Technology officials, staff and teachers to use outcomes in the development of policy and practices
- Write M&E reports and contribute to the writing of project updates, quarterly reports and final reports.
- Carry out on-going monitoring and annual/final evaluations.
- Organize logistics of all data collection in conjunction with SSIRI Nairobi-based office.
- Budget for all M&E activities and seek approval before implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in education or related course.
- A master's degree in education related course is an added advantage.
- 5 years relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation of education related projects, especially in emergency situations.
- Experience working with statistical packages is an added advantage.
- Ability to lead, supervise and work within a team environment and in a multi-cultural setting.

- Self starter and highly motivated
- Strong skills in spoken and written English
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a deadline driven environment
