About the Company
The Swivel Marketing Company is a below the line advertising company specializing in Experiential Marketing. Its activities include mobile activations (inclusive of road-shows), In store promotions, Launches, as well as other unique activations that require face to face communications. The company was incorporated in Kenya in April 2006 and a year later it opened in Kampala, Uganda. Swivel Marketing key promise is in innovation of processes of execution and ideation. These are in turn underpinned by the team's key driver: - Excellence in Execution. The Company is seeking to fill the challenging positions of General Manager Kenya and Uganda. The key objectives of this position is to identify and pursue major value creating business opportunities that will support, reinforce and realize the organization's vision and strategy within the East African region. Reporting to the Managing Director and Board of Directors, the key responsibilities include:
  • Overall Management of all the operations of Swivel Marketing.
  • Business Development and Client Service, including achieving of targets, acquisition of new business, maintaining and growing business
  • Recruitment and development of staff, provide direction to ensure team goals are understood and achieved, performance standards are sustained
  • Project Management, ensuring Projects have detailed and signed off project charters, Overseeing theeffective implementation of the Swivel Marketing initiatives & projects as per plan
  • Financial Management, including Budget planning, Overseeing Preparation and content of all financial documents and Financial statements, Cost Management
  • Provide Leadership, drive change across the company operations, Meet tactical planning requirements
  • Quality Control: -The position has a strong focus on the delivery of quality service to clients
  • Innovating New services and subsequent implementation
  • Strategic and tactical planning
  • Improvements in any process or procedure adopted by Swivel Marketing
  • Management and development of the agency's IT systems and website facilities.
Required Background and Essential Requirements
  1. As an ideal candidate you will have a minimum of 6 years experience in a senior business development role in customer dominated industry, where innovative and quality products and services are constantly being developed to satisfy various segments of customers. You will be a graduate, ideally holding a degree in marketing, administration, business, commerce or other relevant field
  2. You will be entrepreneurial, highly creative and hands-on individual with a proven track record of leading major organizational transformation through innovation. You will need to have a detailed understanding of the commercial drivers in a high performing organization with strong communication and influencing skills to build relationships with employees, stakeholders and government.
  3. You will be an experienced business manager of diverse teams who is a risk taker with clear and robust practical decision making ability to complex business challenges.
  4. Proven high level interpersonal and communication skills including the abilities to liaise and negotiate successfully with executive management, government agencies and members of the Bar.
