CT1999 - Territory Sales Executive - Zain Kenya

Overall Goal:
  • Responsible for generating revenue by closing sales through effective distribution of Zain SIM cards and Scratch cards in the Territory.Sells Zain products and services directly to customers primarily via face-to-face contact.
  • Develops strong relationships with retailers & distributors to ensure sensitivity to the customer’s needs, concerns, and emerging requirements.
  • Usually responsible for non-complex and easy to close sales and operates under close to moderate supervision
The Role:

Performs sales activities to new and/or current customers to achieve or exceed assigned revenue objectives

  • Contacts and visits prospective customers to determine needs
  • Sells products/services through face-to-face contact
  • Remains knowledgeable of company's products/services to facilitate sales efforts
  • Maintains sales records and prepares sales reports as required

Maintains regular contact with customers to ensure satisfaction

  • Maintains a regular schedule of contact via on-site /phone visits
  • Alerts client to new or improved products/services
  • Develops relationships with client through dinners, outings, etc.
  • Relays client feedback to product development staff

Territorial Product availability

  • Availability of scratch cards & sim cards to all outlets
  • Timely execution of the distribution strategy
  • Electronic Airtime distribution penetration (Numeric and value)
  • Payphone penetration (Numeric and Revenue)

Point of sale material presence (Visibility)

  • Carry out In trade and out trade sales (ITOS)
  • Coordinating Trade Promotion in the territory
  • Minimizing outlet weighted out of stock score
  • Minimizing the volume of out of stock score

Subscriber and revenue growth in the territory

  • Territorial Promotional activities input
  • Business Development in the Celtel Distribution Channel
  • Airtime Sales value as per target
  • Simcard Sales as per target

Territorial Dealer availability

  • Relationship Management

Team Effectiveness

  • Weekly and monthly distribution reports to the Regional Distribution Manager
  • Conducting daily, weekly and monthly ITOs

Distributor staff Subordinate Effectiveness

  • Job Competency Profile availability
  • Personal Development plans
  • Performance Appraisal
Qualification:
  • 0-18 months with University Degree or equivalent training in business or sales management
  • Able to work under high stress with short-term targets and objectives
  • IT literacy
  • Able to operate in a performance driven organization
  • Knowledge of English and/or French

  • High personal standards and goal oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent and effective communications skills, both orally and in writing
  • Good knowledge of Zain’s products/services and pricing practices.
