Responsibilities
a) General

- Following company standards
- Following all reasonable instructions as requested by the management
- Being aware of all in-store promotions, such as credit facilities, activities etc.
- Keeping all company information, including sales figures, strictly confidential
- Ensuring he / she follows all company rules and regulations
- Following all company safety and security procedures
- Representing the company in the best way possible at all times, whether on or off duty
b) Customer Service
- Being constantly aware of customers and their needs
- Ensuring that all customers, irrespective of colour, creed or gender are treated equally
- Booking all customer deliveries in the most efficient manner possible
- Arranging correct handover of pick up items
- Issuing credit notes according to Exchange policies
c) Sales
- Having an excellent and up to date knowledge of all products
d) Cash Desks
- Welcoming and greeting each customer as they arrive at the cash desks
- Keeping the strictest confidentiality with regards sales figures and customer information
- Ensuring customers pay the correct price for each and every item
- Processing all sales according to strictly implement cashier policies for cash, credit card, credit account and debit card
- Double checking all change offered
- Balancing payments at the end of each shift
- Assisting the customer with packing and wrapping when necessary
- Recording any and all discounts after the appropriate approval
- Recording any and all Clearance Area sales appropriately
- Recording any and all gift voucher sales appropriately
- Ensuring a steady supply of cash desks supplies such as till rolls, credit / debit slips and paper so as not to inconvenience the customer
- Calling the Duty Manager if queues build up too long at Cash Desk
- Ensuring that the cash desk / packing area is kept clean and tidy
- Checking products in boxes are in good condition and changing them when necessary
- Handing in any lost and found cards or money to the Duty Manager
- Encouraging customers to complete any customer information or comments leaflets available
- Booking deliveries after confirming acceptable date and time with customer
- Always thanking the customer for shopping and say goodbye
