NCCK invites applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions:


1. Resort Manager – Jumuia Conference and Beach Resort, Kanamai (Ref: RM – JCBR)

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the holder of this position will be responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the Resort with a view to ensuring that it operates at a profit while at the same time offering quality service in a Christian environment. The incumbent will be responsible for making recommendations on policies and procedures to the Commercial Director as well as directing the strategic and operational activities of the Resort.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management
• Demonstrable marketing and public relations competencies
• Clear financial, human resource and business management capacities
• At least 5 years experience in a similar position

2. Administrative Secretary – Jumuia Conference and Beach Resort, Kanamai (Ref: AS– JCBR)

Reporting to the Resort Manager, the holder of this position will be responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support to the management team.

The position involves making recommendations to the Resort Manager on issues related to the areas of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least Form IV – KCSE or equivalent
• Diploma in Business and Secretarial Studies
• Skills in Sales, Reservations and Guest Relations will be and added advantage
• At least two (2) years experience in a similar position.

3. Building Maintenance Officer – Head Office (Ref: BMO – HO)

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the holder of this position will be responsible for supporting the functions of the Commercial Department by managing the delivery of building maintenance activities to ensure excellence and sustainability of the commercial properties of the Council.

The incumbent will be responsible for making recommendations to the Commercial Director on issues related to the areas of work.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree or Higher Diploma in Building/Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering related discipline
• Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation including construction regulations
• Good understanding of key trades and accepted standards of workmanship
• At least 3 years experience in construction and property maintenance


4. Camp Coordinator, Kakuma Refugee Camp (Ref. CC – KRC)

Reporting to the Programme Officer, Peace Building and Conflict Management at the national level, the holder of this position will be responsible for providing leadership in NCCK refugee work, being the liaison person with United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and other Agencies as well as overseeing the implementation of the Refugee Services Project in Kakuma Camp.

The position involves making recommendations to the Programme Officer, Peace Building and Conflict Management on issues related to the areas of work.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences
• Experience in social work
• Experience in fundraising
• Good managerial, administrative, mediation and communication skills
• At least 3 years experience in a similar field

5. Senior Clerk of Works, Kakuma Refugee Camp (Ref. SCW – KRC)

Reporting to the Field Officer in charge of the Camp, the holder of this position will be responsible for supervision of construction and maintenance of houses for sheltering refugees in Kakuma Refugee Camp in North Rift Region, Turkana North District, Rift Valley Province.

The incumbent will be responsible for making recommendations to the Field Officer in charge of the Camp on issues related to the areas of work.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science or higher diploma or its equivalent in structural engineering from accredited college.
• Ability to estimate materials, quantities, obtain quotes and provide estimates of project construction
• High cultural sensitivity and able to work in cross-functional environment
• Efficient work organization and cost effective construction methods/skills
• Proficiency in Computer skills including-MS Word, Auto card, Excel, E-mail programs.
• Excellent interpersonal and training skills
• Ability to work for long hours in a harsh environment.
• At least 3 years experience in working in a community based construction industry/setting

6. Foreman, Kakuma Refugee Camp (Ref. FM – KRC)

Reporting to the Clerk of Works, the holder of this position will be responsible for providing technical support in supervision of field operations in construction and maintenance of refugee shelters at the Camp.

The position involves making recommendations to the Clerk of Works on issues related to the areas of work.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least Form IV – KCSE or equivalent
• Diploma in Masonry/Carpentry or Government Trade Test Grade II
• Basic computer skills
• At least two (2) years experience in a similar position.

7. Construction Technician – Dadaab Refugee Camp (CT – DRC)

Reporting to the Camp Coordinator, the holder of this position will be responsible for providing technical guidance and supervision in shelter and infrastructure construction activities to a group of refugee community workers as well as providing technical support and supervision in sanitation and hygiene promotion activities.

This position involves making recommendations to the Camp Coordinator on procurement of all necessary materials, equipment and tools to ensure timely implementation of the plans and the functioning of site facilities including pit latrines as per UNHCR minimum standards in emergency and refugee settings.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least Form IV – KCSE or equivalent
• Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering
• Advanced training in Water, Sanitation or Public Health Engineering will be preferred
• At least 3 years field experience in civil engineering/water and sanitation, preferably in humanitarian programmes in arid and semi arid areas.

8. Field Officer (Camps) – Peace Education, Dadaab Refugee Camp (FOPE - DRC)

Reporting to the Camp Coordinator, the holder of this position will be responsible for facilitating peace education, conflict prevention and resolution activities for various community groups in the Camp.

The position involves making recommendations to the Camp Coordinator on issues relating to their area of work.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences
• Practical knowledge and skills on dialogue, mediation and conflict management
• At least two (2) years relevant experience
