The Information Technology Division of Safaricom Ltd is seeking to fill the following vacant the position of;
SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST
REF:IT-SBA-NOV08
Reporting to Principal Business Analyst, the incumbent will liaise with business system users and information technology team in creating automated business solutions. The job holder will also be responsible for gathering, detailing and documenting business requirements that are useful to end users and Technical developers.
The profile for the position is detailed below:
Key Responsibilities
- Collect ,classify , analyze and document business requirements as per set standards
- Carry out full business requirements discovery that includes interviewing relevant stakeholders & end users.
- Create high level solution designs by exploiting the functionality available in IT systems and filling missing gaps with appropriate new systems in accordance with enterprise architecture.
- Participate in technical /functional evaluation bids for new systems.
- Collaboratively develop test driven business requirements and functional specification with business, technical and testing team members.
- Ensure sensible consensus is reached for all requirements /specifications and help IT and Test leads to have the same mutual understanding thereof
- Generate process documentation that clarifies and validates how the organization utilizes business systems to meet business requirements.
- Ensure IT systems are aligned with business processes & engage business stakeholders in process review.
- Promote proper release planning, guaranteeing adherence to business needs and priorities.
- Verify that requirements are testable and generate testing objectives.
- Review testing cases for accuracy. Validate User acceptance results conform to requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Science /Computer Science/Engineering/Business related
- 4 Years experience as a system developer in a busy IT development environment. 2 years of which must include experience in system analysis.
- Logical and physical data modeling ,relational databases-SQL & Oracle database management
- Experienced in writing formal use cases-Description of a system behavior as it responds to a request that originates from outside that system.
- Demonstrated Experience producing requirements that support test-driven development
- Expertise in enterprise architecture
- Communication and interpersonal skills

- Decision making skills
- Desire to continually learn new skills
