With this newly created position, our client the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) wishes to further improve its capacity to assess, evaluate and develop new policies, systems and strategies that will spur the development and growth of the insurance industry.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall leadership in planning, designing, executing and disseminating research that promote the objectives of the Authority.
Key functions
- Planning, designing and coordinating the implementation of research studies and surveys,
- Coordinating the formulation, implementation and evaluation of IRA's strategic corporate plan and budget; ensuring that these are aligned with government policies, strategies and priories
- Coordinating the design, development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive public education materials and campaigns,
- Continuously assessing and prioritizing needs, opportunities and demands for research interventions in the insurance sector.
- Producing quality reports and disseminating research findings to stakeholders, encouraging them to make use of the research findings
Applications are invited from Kenya citizens who satisfy the following requirements:
- Hold a Masters degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field with a strong bias in research.
- At least eight (8) years experience gained in research related to the financial sector,
- Excellent understanding of the insurance industry including policies, products, economics, finance and corporate governance issues,
- Ability to initiate and deliver high quality research,
- Well developed communication skills including ability to develop proposals, concept papers, position as well as write reports and relevant publications.
- Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office applications, financial and statistical packages as well as research programmes.
