International Systems Development Team, Regional Specialist Job: Family Health International (FHI)

We are seeking qualified candidates for: International Systems Development Team, Regional Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

The International Systems Development Team (ISDT) Regional Specialist (Specialist) will provide leadership, guidance and support to FHI's development programs to upgrade global business support operations.

This position is part of a focused team responsible for the implementation of unified award management, accounting/finance, time management, human resources and other business management systems for country and regional offices world-wide.

The ISDT will perform leadership roles in the assurance of design development of global solutions, and their subsequent implementation.

The incumbent will report to: Director, General Accounting, Global Shared Services (GSS) for technical issues and Regional Director, Global Shared Services for Operational issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the design stage of the new FHI management and finance systems, processes, controls and policies incorporating international requirements: and to determine optimal configuration of business systems to international and country-level needs;
  • Assume responsibility as coordinated by the EPMO for the following implementation activities, initially in support of US deployments, and subsequently for International pilot, regional, and country office deployments:
  1. Testing: development of test cases within systems, run test scenarios, track defects, certify processes as working as designed
  2. Developing User Guides & SOPs: for assigned process areas, for documentation of early stage and ongoing detailed use of systems
  3. Training: participate in initial system and process training, develop training materials, conduct training sessions and provide new user support during initial implementation
  4. Developing Policies: identifying areas in need of policy origination or clarification as prompted by changes brought on by new systems/procedures
  5. Documenting Roles and Responsibilities: writing role-based job duties/job descriptions as defined by new systems requirements
  6. Evaluating Report Needs: managing assigned duties to define future standardized reporting environment for country, region and US HQ levels, to GSS, operations and PHP/Research services management
  7. Converting or Assembling Data: managing the collection of data for entry or automated upload to new systems, identifying the sources and the missing data elements
  • Under EPMO guidance, provide effective project management practices through stages of introduction training, and deployment at local and regional levels to assure orderly control over the Global Shared Services initiative, and delivery of maximum benefit to FHI international operations: in this role, assist each group in its own period of deployment as a global team.
REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting (especially fund accounting or non-profit accounting) finance, human resources, administrative and/or business practices; general principles of project management information systems and software applications, and change management.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organization skills
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills with English as native or second language
  • Ability to travel internationally for extended periods
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field and five or more years of international business five years experience in one of the above functions in an operations management position
