A Coffee Initiative Director is being recruited in Kenya (Nairobi) to manage TechnoServe's coffee interventions as part of a Regional Coffee Initiative being implemented across 4 East African Countries (Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya). The director will provide leadership for managing the programmatic, administrative, financial, and technical aspects of the Project.
Applying candidates should possess:
- 20+ years of experience in private sector agribusiness, with at least 10+ years in senior management level positions in Africa managing large and complex staff teams.
- Strong experience in coffee production, processing and marketing in more than one country in the African continent. Additional coffee experience in other continents preferred.
- Extensive experience in technology transfer and adoption.
- Prior experience managing and coordinating regionally based agribusiness projects.
- Strong knowledge in Rural SME competitiveness.
- Bachelors Degree in agricultural sciences or business required.
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
- Proficiency in both English and Kiswahili required.
- Prior experience managing complex donor funded projects preferred.
- Candidates with current investment(s) or role as an active stakeholder in the Kenyan coffee industry could present a conflict of interest and therefore will not be considered for this position.
