Area Finance & Administration Officer Job: Christian Children's Fund (Kenya)

CCF Kenya, a non profit international organization whose mandate is to improve the well-being of children and to enhance opportunities for the development of their full potential, seeks to fill the following position

Area Finance & Administration Officer
Ref No: CCFK/2008/017), North Rift Area - Maralal.

Reporting to the Area manager, the Area Finance and Administration Officer will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring all financial transactions in collaboration with the Area Manager;
  • reviewing all the daily financial transactions and the books of accounts to ensure they are appropriately recorded and coded;
  • reviewing monthly bank reconciliation reports;
  • ensuring all funds meant for program activities are received and disbursed on time;
  • ensuring adherence and compliance to the area budget with assistance of the Area Manger and the National Office Finance Director;
  • ensuring that the related financial transactions by the federation committee, children and youth comply with the donor requirements, country laws, CCF Policies and Procedures;
  • preparing financial reports using the FIT systems;
  • preparation of the federation budget with the aid of Area manager;
  • ensuring the area office meets the CCF Audit requirements and provides appropriate guidance and comments in disclosure letter;
  • ensuring appropriate internal controls through adherence to the accounting systems and procedures;
  • coordination and supervision of the activities of the area office support staff;
  • managing the area properties, equipments and assets and overseeing all other administrative functions.
The candidate must have: a Bachelors Degree in Commerce (Accounting option) with at least CPA Part II and at least three years professional experience in accountancy and administration in an INGO/NGO handling both Sponsorship and Grants funded projects, working knowledge of Kenya Labour Laws.

In addition, good knowledge of donor reports or general project reports-monthly, quarterly ,mid term review and end term reviews, organization and time management skills, ability to work under pressure, good communication and writing skills are required.
