KWFT, a leading Microfinance Institution that works to economically empower women is seeking to recruit an outstanding, committed and talented individual to join its forward looking management team in the following position:

Job Title: Public Relations Officer

Reporting to the CEO, the Public Relations Officer will be responsible for the Planning and directing of public relations, marketing and communications programs designed to create and maintain a favourable public image for KWFT.

Responsibilities:
  • Device PR and Communication strategies to communicate to diverse stakeholder and audiences
  • Identify stakeholders groups and audiences and determine the best way to communicate publicity information to them
  • Write effective press releases, information for media kits, advocacy and communication materials, executive presentations and speeches.
  • Maintain communication and public relation databases, including tracking communication and public relations
  • Coordinate development and maintenance of company internet and intranet web pages
  • Develop and maintain the company’s corporate image and identity, which includes the use of logos and signage
  • Develop and effectively manage PR and communications budget
  • Manage special events such as new product launches, conference and workshops, the Annual General Meeting, and other activities
  • Draft speeches for company executives and arrange interviews and other PR activities for them
  • Assign, supervise and review the activities of public relations staff and agencies
  • Formulate policies and procedures related to public information programs
  • Develop marketing strategies and coordinate marketing activities
  • Coordinate research to determine market needs for new services and products.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree preferred, post graduate or professional degrees a plus.
  • Public affairs, Marketing & Public Relations experience.
  • At least 3 years professional communications experience.
  • Good understanding of online or traditional advertising programs or companies.
  • Proven communicator – verbal and written.
