Call for Proposals to Develop Pollution Prevention and Control Guidelines for the Coastal and Marine Environment for Kenya
The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) is the principal agency of Government in charge of the coordination and supervision of all matters relating to environmental management in Kenya.
We are looking for a consultant(s) to assist the Authority in development of Pollution Prevention and Control Guidelines for the Coastal and Marine Environment for Kenya.
Interested consultants are asked to download the Terms of Reference from the NEMA website http://www.nema.go.ke/ under Consultancy menu in Media centre.
Qualifications
The consultant(s) must have demonstratable competence in coastal and marine environment management mainly in the area of environmental chemistry, pollution prevention and control and in drafting pollution prevention and control guidelines and strategies.
Interested consulting firms/organizations/individuals should indicate their professional qualification and experience in undertaking similar assignments in the last five years.
APPLICATIONS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY ACV AND ATECHNICAL PROPOSAL (5 PAGES MAXIMUM) ON HOW THE CONSULTANCY WILL BE UNDERTAKEN, AS WELL AS A FINANCIAL (COST) PROPOSAL.
Each proposal is to be in a separate sealed envelope, and placed inside a single large outer envelope. Each inner envelope is to be clearly marked as appropriate: "Technical Proposal", and "Financial Proposal".
The outer envelope should be marked "CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL GUIDELINES FOR THE COASTAL AND MARINE ENVIRONMENT OF KENYA" TENDER NO. N EM A/049/09-10 and addressed to:

The documents should be deposited in the Tender Box at NEMA Headquarters, 'Popo Road, off Mombasa Road, not later than Monday, 21st December 2009 at 11.00 am.
The documents will be opened immediately thereafter at 11.30 am in the NEMA Boardroom in the presence of candidates' representatives who wish to attend.
