Jobs of Program Manager and Policy & Advocacy Coordinator in a National Child Rights NGO in Kenya

A National Child Rights NGO seeks to fill the positions of Program Manager and Policy & Advocacy Coordinator.

Program Manager

The Manager will deputize the Executive Director on ensuring the day to day running and management of the Organization.

Desired Qualities

  • Experience in development and management of programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Honest, results oriented, with superior networking skills.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Social Sciences, Economic or Development
  • Should have at least 3 years of experience within the NGO Sector, in programme management.
  • Should have an understanding of child rights, policy analysis gender, research and children training methodologies.
  • Should be computer literate in Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Aged between 27 – 37 years.
Policy & Advocacy Coordinator

Main duties will be to coordinate activities relating to advocacy for legal and policy reforms

Qualifications
  • Minimum First Degree in Law.
  • Should have knowledge of legal and policy framework of children in Kenya.
  • Should have knowledge of adult training methodologies
  • Should have management and organizational skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in an NGO
  • Have a good understanding of children rights issues especially in Kenya.
  • Have a good understanding of working with multiple interest groups.
  • Good communication skills in both English and Kiswahili
  • Aged between 25 - 35 years
Responsibilities
  • Initiate activities to highlight policy and legal rights of children.
  • Organize and manage lobby groups for legal and policy reforms on the rights of children.
  • Be in charge of monitoring current legislations and policies in the country
  • Train policy makers on children matters.
  • Work with relevant parliamentary committees to lobby for recognition of children rights.
  • Enhance collaboration and networking within children sector in Kenya.
