The Candidate’s responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);

The client is a leader in Microfinance with a large network of operations.
The Candidate’s responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
- Lead and Manage the Microfinance Bank
- Provide overall direction to the organization and ensure maximum outreach, sustainability and transformation of the Banks operations
- Provide expertise, information, advise and counsel concerning the affairs of the institution to the Board of Directors to ensure accountability to all stakeholders
- Develop and recommend corporate policies as well as short-term and long-term business plans for Board approval and implementation
- Continued development of the Bank
- Development and delivery of strategic plan
- Holistic monitoring and control process
- Driving organizational performance
- Performance management, evaluation and control
- Human Resource Management and Staff development
- Communication, External Affairs and Corporate Image
- Financial and Operational performance reports to the Board, Managing Director of Africa and Statutory Bodies
- Development and Instilment of the groups Corporate culture
- Design, Development and Implementation of a Plan to move from initial non-regulated to Regulated status
- Directly supervise and assess performance of COO, CRO, CFO, Head of IT, Head of Risk, Chief Legal Officer and Head of Human Resources
- Create Monthly reports for the Managing Director of Africa
- Manage relationship with Central Bank, Government and other key stakeholders
- Ownership of donor relationships and key deliverables
The successful Candidate must have;
- A bachelor degree in any numerate business related subjects (Master’s degree in Business or Finance is preferred)
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years relevant working experience, a minimum ten (10) of which should have been Board or Senior Management
- General knowledge of a wide range of micro banking products and services
- Advanced knowledge of Retail Banking operations, industry products or services
- Advanced knowledge of standard banking compliance, regulations, banking law, business law, employment and labor law, internal operations policies and procedures, and banking products and services
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to third parties and employees
- Ability to meet reporting expectations of the Board, investors and statutory bodies
- Excellent decision making skills
- Strong leadership and team building skill and experience with the ability to develop and maintain a Management team
- Excellent organization, delegation, performance management, administration, analytical, influencing, negotiation and time management skills
- Ideally has lived and/or worked in Africa
- Ideally fluent in Portuguese
