Reports To/Line Manager: Country Managing Director
JOB PURPOSE
- Lead the Relationship team covering a portfolio of Large Corporates in addition to the Personal accounts of key individuals for the country.
- Champion and manage change introduced as a result of Corporate Initiatives/Programmes impacting the Corporate Market.
- Maximize sustainable risk-adjusted portfolio contribution on both an individual portfolio and aggregate team basis.
- Manage the Bank’s relationship with Large Corporates and Government entities.
- Develop products/services aligned to customer requirements sourced from Bank’s Corporate Banking, Capital and Retail Financial Services.
Responsibilities
- Sales and Service
- Primary contact in the Corporates controlling office responsible for customer needs, service reviews, and credit risk issues.
- Provide advice on business finances structures in the short-term and medium/long term.
- Grow the team’s portfolio profitability by identifying new and existing customer potential including sales opportunities and new product promotion initiatives.
- Formulate business development strategies and objectives to meet changing market needs.
- Monitor conformance of team using new relationship development procedures.
- Monitor results of customer surveys against target service quality standards.
- Monitor levels of complaints and quality of handling.
- Proactively research competitive threats and opportunities within the team’s market and geographical area.
- Communicate key messages to customers including agreed service standards, negotiated pricing, relationship team contact points and new product changes.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to risk service standards.
- Business Management
- Coordinate Bank’s involvement in Business Banking, Capital, Retail Financial Services and Global Investors to create annual customer plans and lead the development of solutions to meet customer needs.
- Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of industry sectors within the customer portfolio.
- Control and manage the risk profile for the overall Team portfolio.
- Manage performance of the team against key financial contribution, sales, service and operational targets.
- Champion, manage and monitor implementation of change impacting the team and arising from central and local corporate change programmes.
- Manage segmentation of the portfolio.
- Develop Customer Relationship Plans for customers in portfolio
- Staff Management
- Help team members to identify strengths and weaknesses in their own skills and attributes, review their self-development plans and ensure training and development needs are accommodated.
- Coach team members on relationship development, service quality and risk.
- Assess managers’ performance against contract; reviewing and inputting to Performance Development Reviews
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years in a relationship management role at a Senior level, as well as experience in a Credit role or will have experience and understanding of credit processes.
- Business development experience
- Thorough knowledge of the Business Banking Products and good appreciation of the Capital product set within the Market.
- Thorough knowledge of product Economics and Pricing.
- Sound knowledge of credit policies.
- Superior communication skills
