Unga Holdings Limited is looking for suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position;
DISTRIBUTION MANAGER (Outbound Logistics) (DM);
Reporting to the Operations Manager;
Key responsibilities
- Ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled effectively and efficiently.
- Planning transportation routes and scheduling deliveries.
- Ensuring the availability of an efficient fleet to service company's customers.
- Ensuring that all finished goods warehouses comply with industry standards and are managed using best industry practices.
- Management of all information associated with the distribution of finished goods to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Managing, and developing a team of efficient and committed staff.
- Enforcing company HSEQ standards and other policies.
- Graduate in the Sciences or Business related discipline with at least 6 years working experience, the last 2 being in logistic management in a FMCG environment.
- Demonstrated practical understanding of the liaison role between production, sales & distribution functions.
- Practical experience in handling customer satisfaction drivers in an FMCG environment.
- Computer proficient with good people management, communication, planning and interpersonal skills plus high level honesty and integrity.
Reporting functionally to the Finance Manager and administratively to the Plant Manager the position is accountable for the following:
- Preparation and submission of daily, weekly and monthly returns to Central Support Office and enforcing branch internal controls
- Periodic stock and cash counts and preparation of reconciliations with system balances
- Monitor the relationship and transactions with 3'" party suppliers and related reconciliations.
- Process payment of internal and outsourced temporary workers wages timely through petty cash imprest system
- In conjunction with the Credit Controller, ensure that credit control procedures are adhered to and all collections are promptly and accurately allocated.
- Ensure prompt banking of daily collections and prepare daily sales, debtors and cash reconciliation.
- Assist the branch in preparing annual overheads budgets.
- Manage the branch archives to ensure proper storage and retrieval of documents.
- Graduates with CPA (K) qualification.
- 4 years working experience in a busy accounting environment and at least 2 years of supervisory experience will be required.
- Manufacturing experience will be an added advantage
- Computer literate with good analytical and people management skills
