Regional IT Manager Job Vacancy:DHL

DHL Global Forwarding (K) Ltd, an International clearing & Forwarding Company invites applications from qualified and interested individuals for the above post.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone who has indepth knowledge and experience in IT field. The successful candidate will report to the Regional IT Manager: Emerging Markets Middle East & Africa for all aspects of the role.

Responsibilities will include:

• Define the country IT strategy (short and long term) in accordance with the regional/ global IT strategy.
  
• Contribute to improving business P&L through effective management of IT services and solutions.
• Development and maintenance of service catalogue in line with regional service management plan.
  
• Ensure effective delivery of IT projects - on time and within budget.
• Provide effective IT support to the business development function - presales to implementation.
  
• Lead infrastructure management support for new business initiatives.
• Create strong relationships at regional/global level within the IT community to ensure maximum leverage of resources / solutions to support local requirements.
  
• Develop and maintain a competent and motivated IT Team.
• In conjunction with the Africa Service Management Lead, determine the Service Management organisational structure, roles, critical success factors and goals.

This is a high level position based in Nairobi calling for a person with the following preferred specifications:

• University degree preferably in Information Technology or business discipline.
• Minimum 8-10 years experience within IT, at a senior level preferably in Forwarding /Logistic sector
• Ability to influence and negotiate at senior level Excellent business / commercial acumen
  
• Budgeting and cost controlling skills
  
• Effective communication skills / interpersonal understanding
