Education Officer, Curriculum and Life Skills Job Vacancy: UNICEF

UNICEF invites applications from Sudanese Nationals for the position of Education Officer, Curriculum and Life Skills, (NO-B), Juba. (Fixed Term)

Purpose of the Post
Under the general supervision of the Chief, Education Section. Juba Area Office, contribute to project design, implementation, and evaluation of education programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required

  • University degree University degree in any of the following: Education, Social Sciences, International Relations, and/or other fields related to the work of UNICEF.
  • Two years of progressively responsible professional work experience in development work, programme management, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Fluency in English and another UN language as required. Knowledge of the local language of the duty station is an asset.
Other Skills and Attributes
  • Current knowledge of development issues and policies, as well as programming policies and procedures in international development cooperation.
  • Knowledge of the latest developments in Education, more specifically Gender in Education Policies and Programmes; Second chance, non-formal or flexible modalities of Basic Education; promotion of peace methodologies; and creation of child friendly environments.
  • Analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills.
  • Training ability.
  • Computer skills. Word processing and spread sheets, including internet navigation, and various office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
Remuneration: An attractive package will be applicable at the relevant UN salary scale.
