Head of Learning and Development Job: Kenya Airways

Brief Description

Develop, Monitor & Review the strategy to ensure that the skills, knowledge, abilities and performance of the work force meets the current & future organizational and individual needs.

Detailed Description

  • Develop and review Training & Development policies to ensure that they meet the organisation standards & requirements
  • Align Training and Development goals with Business Strategy to ensure that business objectives are accomplished
  • Co-ordinate strategic education, training and development plans
  • Analyse, develop & plan corporate training needs & programmes to enhance staff performance
  • In consultation with Directors, Trainers and Head of Fleet Administration, prepare, monitor and control organisation training budget to ensure effective cost control
  • Ensure that training is delivered in the most appropriate and cost effective way
  • Review current & emerging training needs requirements for the organization
  • In conjunction with Director HR, ensure that there is a fully co-ordinated approach from all third party training suppliers
  • Develop and maintain the organization Resource Centre for reference purposes
  • Drive the succession development programmes to meet organization succession needs
  • Develop capacity of training team to enhance their performance & career development & to keep up with changing technology and training requirements
  • In consultation with Director HR, implement, design, execute & evaluate development programmes, to enhance the performance of the Management team
  • Design and develop training solutions
  • Analyse, create, deliver and evaluate training and development strategy that is closely linked to business objectives
  • Build and ensure good liaison, regular consultative meetings with the operational departments to ensure that training needs have been properly identified, planned for and can be met.
  • Ensure that everybody who delivers Training is appropriately accredited.
  • Manage The Pride Centre
Job Requirements
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, interpersonal & presentation skills
  • A Trained Trainer
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, interpersonal & presentation skills
  • Organisational, planning & Analytical Skills
  • Proficiency in the use of IT, Audio Visual Aids & other training aids
  • Minimum university graduate in Social Sciences, specialisation in Training, Education & Development
  • 8 years of professional training and development experience 5 of which must be in a senior management level, practically training and developing Human resources
  • Proven track record as a Trainer
