SUMMARY
FH Association (Food for the Hungry), a Christian relief and development ministry, is looking for a National Programs Director (PD) for Uganda. This is a senior level position responsible for all programming in Uganda. The PD will serve to guide all private and institutional donor programs with an emphasis on USAID, DFID, EU and CIDA.

The PD will also function as the Acting Country Director for Uganda, taking administrative leadership during CD absences.

Key Result #1 - Provide leadership and management support for all Uganda programs

Key Result #2 - Lead new strategy development and program design and donor relations to secure appropriate, long term resources for all Uganda programs

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • Christian commitment to serving the poor and full agreement with FH Vision and Mission
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working at a senior management level (Program Director or Country Director) in a multi-sectoral program with a well respected international NGO, experience working in sectors like child protection, food security, and health will be a strong advantage.
  • Strong budget management experience of an annual budget of US$1,000,000 and above
  • Excellent management experience in a program of over 100 staff; experience managing a multi-cultural program
  • Successful experience as primary author of grant reports to international donors, especially USAID, DFID, EU and other government donors
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills including USAID and European donor related technical wrtting.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Word, PP and Excel
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Masters degree in international development studies, public health or other related field or seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
