With operations in 238 cities and over 100 countries and territories the British Council is in the process of developing a global audit function to enhance its management of risk and support the achievement of its key objectives. As part of this process they aim to recruit a team responsible for auditing their operations in Sub Saharan Africa to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

As an Internal Auditor within the team you will be responsible for delivering a range of internal audits on both financial and operational areas. You will be responsible for drafting and agreeing terms of reference, designing audit programmes, evaluating the adequacy of internal controls, carrying out round up meetings and drafting audit reports for management approval.

Audits will be risk, systems or Value for Money based and will be in accordance with IIA standards.

To meet the requirements of the post you will need to have previous internal audit experience, be studying towards audit or accountancy qualifications and be fluent in English. A second language, such as French would be desirable. This role will include extensive travel with the region.
