With operations in 238 cities and over 100 countries and territories the British Council is in the process of developing a global audit function to enhance its management of risk and support the achievement of its key objectives. As part of this process they aim to recruit a team responsible for auditing their operations in Sub Saharan Africa to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
As a Senior Auditor you will deliver a range of internal audit assignments to support the annual audit opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management and control processes. You will also provide input into the annual planning process and develop new audit techniques to maximise the performance of audit reviews.
Day to day responsibilities will include the preparation and planning of audits, delivery of assurance, compliance, risk, systems and value for money reviews, completion of draft and final reports and supervising of staff on assignments. You will also be expected to complete special investigations where necessary.
To meet the requirements of the post you will need to have previous internal audit experience, hold a full audit or accountancy qualification and be fluent in English. A second language, preferably French, would be desirable. Extensive travel throughout the region will be expected.
