With operations in 238 cities and over 100 countries and territories the British Council is in the process of developing a global audit function to enhance its management of risk and support the achievement of its key objectives. As part of this process they aim to recruit a team responsible for auditing their operations in Sub Saharan Africa to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
As a Manager you will work closely with the Head of Audit to provide input into the development of the Internal Audit Strategy and new audit programmes and procedures for the region and manage the delivery of a predominantly risk based audit plan. You will take ownership for the quality assurance process to ensure all work is delivered to the required standards and will develop the use of audit software and Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs).
To meet the requirements of the post you will need to have previous internal audit management experience, hold a full audit or accountancy qualification and be fluent in English. A second language, preferably French, would be desirable. Extensive travel throughout the region will be expected.
This is an exciting time to join the Council and play a pivotal role in establishing a new team within an organisation which is committed to promoting internal controls throughout its operations.
