A State Corporation in the Agricultural Sector would like to invite applications from qualified Kenyans who are computer literate and under the age of 40 years for the following positions:
Inspector
Ref: VA/1
Major duties and responsibilities:
- To inspect import/export produce for conformance to market standards.
- To work in liaison with laboratory Staff to ensure accurate plant pest identification.
- To undertake surveillance and other prescribed measures at the major boarder points of entry, to prevent introduction of risky pests.
- Coordinate training and awareness of stakeholders on produce quality standards and marketing requirements.
- Organizing the Corporation’s participation in exhibitions, shows and field days
- Responding to client queries from time to time.
- Preparing sectional reports in line with performance contracts.
Key qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Botany, Zoology or any other relevant field from a recognized university.
- Two year experience in the field of produce quality management.
- Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of various marketing standards e.g the ED regulations, Global GAP, etc.
- Should be familiar with and understands the application of the WTO-SPS Agreement among others.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems will be an added advantage.

Corporate Communications Media/Officer
Ref: VA/2
The successful candidate will be required to develop programs that will enhance Corporation visibility and improve its position regionally and globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop communications strategy for the Corporation.
- Oversee all external communications including press releases, marketing collateral, publications, web content, and other web communications.
- Identify and support the Corporation’s communication and marketing needs to help raise its profile, as well as publicize its mandate, and objectives and activities.
- Respond to internal information needs.
- Identify Audio/Visual needs to cover Corporation’s activities where appropriate.
- Take the leading editing role in the Corporation’s newsletter, as well as other publications, including reports, information summaries, annual reports, policy briefs and promotional materials.
- Organizing Corporation’s public events such as conferences, workshops and seminars ensuring appropriate media coverage.
- Organizing TV/radio interviews on major Corporation operations/activities
- Develop institutional talking points.
Key qualifications:
- A relevant higher University Degree in Communication and Media.
- At least three years experience in Communications Public Relations in a busy environment.
- A basic degree in biological sciences will be an added advantage.
- Experienced in content development and design of Public Relations & Communication strategy
- Excellent English and Kiswahili written skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Accounts Assistant

Key responsibilities:
- Voucher preparation
- Basic book keeping
- Cheque writing
- Payment processing
- Receipt writing.
Key qualifications:
- Possess CPA II or its recognized equivalent
- Computer literacy especially in relevant accounting programmes.
Driver
Ref: VA/4
Key responsibilities:
- Transport authorized persons for official duties using corporation vehicles.
- Drive the assigned vehicle ensuring the safety of passengers, vehicle and other road users for the transport of authorized persons.
- Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle -check oil level, water, coolant, battery, tyre, etc.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle including arraigning it for repair using the prevailing procedure.
- Log official trips as per government procedure and policies including mileage, consumption, route etc.
- Ensure vehicle documents are current including display of insurance cover at all times observe traffic rules and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of passenger conversations /discussions.
- Report accidents or incidents immediately to the supervisor and ensure that steps required by rules and regulations are taken incase of involvement in accident.
Key qualifications:
- Possess a clean Driving license (classes BCE and above) free from any negative endorsement
- At least three (3) years driving experience.
- Possess Government Trade test III
- Have adequate knowledge of the Highway Code
- Have knowledge of driving rules and conversant with road security code
- Have a valid certificate of good conduct from Kenya Police renewable every two years
- Possess a KCSE certificate or its KNEC accepted equivalent.
