PROGRAMMING AND MARKETING SPECIALIST

PAYU COMPUTING LTD

PAYU Computing Ltd. is a new start-up based in Tanzania with the goal of making the Internet and computers available to those who cannot afford these tools in the developing world. We  are looking for a young motivated energetic computer scientist/engineer who is willing and able to bring a brand new product to market.

Responsibilities:

Drive the development and advancement of the PAYU Product in Tanzania

Main point of contact for the company in Tanzania

Expand the current pipeline of PAYU customers by formulating and implementing marketing strategies.

Talk to, and interact with potential PAYU customers and drive strategies to incorporate their needs into the PAYU product

Be an active member of the founding team and help build a comprehensive business case for future funding.

Skills:

Required – deep knowledge of Linux OS, specifically Ubuntu OS

Required – knowledge of building networked systems, both wired and wireless.

Required – knowledge and experience in marketing new computer-related product

Required – Fluency in both English and Kiswahili

Preferred – knowledge of Perl scripts and Web development technologies

Preferred – past experience with working in a high-pace startup environment

Qualifications:

BSc/MSc in computer science from a well known university in Tanzania (UDSM, DIT and others)

Minimum of 2 years experience working in a computer science related field

Minimum of 1 year experience marketing a product in Tanzania

The compensation for this opening is negotiable depending on skills and qualification of the applicant. On top of this basic compensation, the individual will be granted stocks in the company.
