HealthNet TPO is an International knowledge driven, non-profit organisation with headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We work together with local populations in areas disrupted by war, disasters and poverty to channel emergency aid into sustainable health care development. Our Country Programme in Sudan is currently expanding and seeking to fill vacancies at our programme sites below:
- COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICERS (CDO): 2 Positions (1 in Wau and 1 in Nyamlell)
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
- Plan, monitor and evaluate the implementation of health related community development activities
- Assess the development needs of the community in general
- Carry out an inventory of the different social support structures in the community and assess their roles in health care,
- Form, train and support various community development committees, including but not limited to village health committees and water management committees
- Carry out periodic activity planning and reviews with health committees
- Adapt/design relevant tools and carry out periodic assessment of community utilization of health services and community satisfaction
- Collect data for elaborating community development plans of the selected communities
- Plan and organize outreach activities for health promotion
- Support organized groups to engage in activities that promote nutrition for children and pregnant mothers (e.g. vegetable growing, rabbit/poultry raring)
- Support and work with CBOs/local NGOs to promote community health
- Work with local county authorities to involve formal community leaders in health activities
- Form and support health clubs in schools and among out-of-school youth to promote health
- Identify and work with women groups to engage in the promotion of gender related aspects of health care (maternal health, family planning, etc)
- Work with traditional structures including traditional healers to improve community health seeking behavior
- Design, organize and facilitate training on psychosocial helping skills to targeted community committees
- Write timely progress program reports
- Participate in all trainings or facilitation exercised/organized by HealthNet TPO or other trainings if advised by the MEDCO, with a view on professional advancement
- Represent the program in meetings with stakeholders or partners.
- Any other duties assigned to hi/her by the Medical coordinator/ Team leader
University degree or equivalent in development studies or its equivalent
- At least 3 years experience in a related position with a reputable NGO
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Fluency in English Luo, Dinka and Arabic and other languages
- Strong ability to work in a team (strong team player)
- Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills, good team player
- Respect for local culture and ability to work in hard conditions
- Motor cycle-driving license and capability to ride long distances under difficult circumstances
B. COMMUNITY MOBILISATION OFFICERS (CMO), 4 positions (2 in Raja and 2 in Wau)
Reports to: Medical Coordinator
Key responsibilities
- Conduct community mapping exercise regarding health relevant aspects, including the social determinants of health
- Collect data for elaborating community development plans of the selected communities
- Support the identification of community representatives
- Organise training of selected community representatives in roles and responsibilities of health facility committee ,
- Recruit and train community health promoters
- Provide supervision of community health promoters and community health workers
- Coordinate training on psychosocial helping skills to targeted community committees
- Assure that relevant psychosocial services are delivered to empower communities
- Plan, monitor and evaluate the implementation of community mobilization and training activities, analyze problems that hamper their implementation and suggest to the Capacity Building Officer appropriate measures to ensure their timely implementation;
- Participate in all trainings or facilitation exercised/organized by HealthNet TPO or other trainings as advised by the Medical Coordinator, with a view on professional advancement
- Develop and implement weekly work plans with reference to the annual activities plan.
- Submit weekly updates to the supervisors.
- Represent the program in meetings with stakeholders or partners.
- University degree or equivalent in social studies
- Experienced in community mobilization techniques
- 2-3 years work experience in the relevant field

- LOGISTICS OFFICERS 2 Positions (1 in Wau and 1 in Nyamlell)
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Supervise all support staff (watchmen, housekeepers and drivers)
- Ensure security of all HealthNet TPO property
- Make periodic inventory of HealthNet TPO property and update the Asset register
- Make procurement of equipment, medical and non-medical supplies for the program within and outside Southern Sudan as planned by management
- Ensure that all program vehicles and equipment are in good mechanical condition
- Keep the HealthNet TPO compound in a comfortable habitable condition
- Receive HealthNet TPO visitors and make necessary hotel and other relevant reservations
- Represent HealthNet TPO in relevant meetings
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the Finance Manager
- College degree/diploma in logistics management;
- At least 3 years experience of working in a similar role;
- Excellent team skills
- Good computer skills on MS Office programmes, especially in MS Excel;
- Strong organisational skills, and ability to interact effectively with international and national personnel;
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and act in a timely manner; and
- Good oral and written English skills plus Arabic and other languages/dialects relevant to the project site will be a big plus.

D. CASHIER (1) Raja (WBEG)
Reports to: Finance Manager (FM)
Responsibilities:
- Keeps field petty cash
- Release cash to approved cash requisitions
- In the absence of FM the cashier will be in charge of the entire day to day cash handling
- Prepare monthly payroll, pays and or supports the FM in monthly staff salary payment.
- Enter daily expenditures into the monthly Bookkeeping.
- Purchase project materials and equipments
- Secure proper filing of all incoming and outgoing e-mails, memos, faxes, and documents. Register staff‘s leave files, airtime etc.
- Assist in tracking and providing financial and logistical support.
- Assist the Project Advisors, the Programme Manager and the Field staff whenever required.
- Basic training in accounting and administrative support
- Experience as a cashier with practical accounting knowledge
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Good communication skills
- English written and spoken plus Arabic and other languages/dialects relevant to the project site
- No criminal record
- Good organisational skills
- Polite and professional behavior
- DRIVERS: 3 positions; (1 in Nyamlell and 2 in Wau)
General responsibilities
- Ensure care and proper use of vehicles, equipment and available spare-parts in the store
- Responsible for vehicle s/he is driving and its equipment at all times. The driver is the only person authorized to drive the vehicle assigned to him, unless otherwise stated by the Administrator
- Ensure that the vehicle is NOT USED for any other business other than Healthnet TPO work, unless authorized by the Program Manager or his representative
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good condition at all times
- Carry out any other responsibilities assigned to him by the administrator
A Sudanese national
- Primary or secondary school level certificate
- Valid driving permit
- Clean driving record
- Basic Mechanical and vehicle maintenance skills
- At least three (3) years work experience in a similar field
