The Aga Khan University invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the following positions:
Senior Instructors: Paediatric Neurology & Paediatric Gastro-Enterology
Reporting to the Chair, Department of Paediatrics, the incumbent will provide services in the respective area of sub-specialty and in General Paediatrics.
In addition s/he will be involved in teaching of residents and research work in areas of personal interest.
Applicants must possess MMed (Paediatrics) and a post graduate degree and specialist recognition in Paediatric Neurology or Paediatric Gastro-Enterology respectively.
S/he should be registered or be eligible for registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
Experience in medical teaching and scientific publication will be an advantage. Candidates with EPLS training will be preferred.
Senior Instructor: Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia
Reporting to the Chair, Department of Anaesthesia, the incumbent will provide specialist services in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia. In addition s/he will be involved in teaching of residents.
Applicants must possess a MMed (Anaesthesia) and a post graduate degree and specialist recognition in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia, with a minimum of two (2) years post registration experience in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia.
S/he should be registered or be eligible for registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board. Previous affiliation to a University Hospital will be an advantage.
Full Time Faculty: Clinical Microbiologist
The Clinical Microbiologist will participate in the provision of microbiology laboratory services. S/he will work within a multi-disciplinary team of Pathologists, nurses, doctors and other health professionals, to provide efficient and effective Clinical Microbiology Services.
As part of the faculty team, s/he should be prepared to take on a role in the teaching and research activities of the Post Graduate Medical Education Program (PGME) in the Department of Pathology. The candidate must possess a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB.ChB) from a recognized University with Post graduate qualification in Clinical Microbiology, M.D./ M.Med/ or equivalent.
S/he should have a minimum three (3) years of post qualification experience in Clinical Microbiology in a reputable institution. The applicants must be eligible for registration as specialist with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
