We are seeking to recruit dynamic, energetic and well qualified personnel to urgently fill the position of Procurement Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Providing advisory services to line managers and project teams on procurement and logistics matters.
- Developing clear technical specifications for procurement of goods and services.
- Managing supplier qualification and selection process by developing a supplier evaluation system.
- Ensuring that the company has reliable and efficient suppliers with documented quality systems and a sound financial base.
- Participating in the review and development of contracting strategies through analysis of the value chain and identifying new opportunities for procurement efficiencies.
- Supporting and conducting commercial negotiations with prospective suppliers.
- Conducting market surveys and analysis which will assist in monitoring and forward planning for supplies.
- Assisting in the department’s budget preparation.
- Will be responsible for the effective planning and coordination of procurement activities in the company including ordering, delivery, storage and timely distribution of goods and services to the end-users.
- Development and review of procurement policies, plans, strategies, and procedures.
- Provide technical advice on matters of procurement and Tendering.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in any business field with a Diploma in Procurement;
- Minimum 3 years work experience as a procurement officer in private sector environment;
- Working knowledge in public Procurement & Disposal Procedures in line with the Act is essential;
- Possess analytical capabilities of resolving complex procurement issues;
- Having worked in an Engineering background will be a definite advantage;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Membership of KISM/CIPS;
- Exhibit a high level of reliability, integrity & efficiency and efficient working knowledge of PASTEL;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet competing demands in time.
