DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

Duty Station: NIMR Headquarters

Qualifications and Experience

• A Masters degree in Business Administration, Economics, Planning or Finance and Development, and holder of professional qualification - CPA m, ACCA or ACA or any : related field with at least ten years working experience in a : reputable organization and must be registered with NBAA. A qualification in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.

• Skills and experience in R&D institution planning, finance and the implementation of integrated data base systems.

• Skills in managing donor funded projects will be an added advantage.

• Advises the Director General on all matters pertaining to administrative, personnel/financial policies and staff development.

• Plans, directs and controls the financial and accounting operations of the Institute;

• Prepares and submits to the Director General reports on the working and audited accounts of the Institute.

• Co-ordinates the preparation of budgets and forecasting and assesses the financial situation of the Institute.

• Advises the Director General on all matters pertaining to finance accountin administration Personnel and su lies services and staff development;

• Prepares recommendations for amending staff and financial regulations for consideration and approval by the Institute.

• Supervises and maintains acceptable standards of discipline and reprimanding staff as appropriate;

• Monitors Institutional spending against budgets and recommend corrective actions as necessary;

• In collaboration with the Director General, safeguards all Assets of the Institute against all risks;

• Be responsible for liaising with government agencies and other regulatory/statutory bodies in relation to institutional financial administration issues and ensure compliance.

• Evaluates the progress and results of projects to assist the Director General in making the necessary adjustments;

• Manages and implements accounting and financial systems and maintain full and accurate accounting records;

• Makes proposals for investment of the Institute's funds and implements the approved investments;

• Evaluates the current progress of the Institute so as to provide fundamental feedback for the preparation of future programs and budget;

• Initiates and recommends ways and means of augmenting the Institute's income and ensure prompt remittance of Government subventions to the Centres.

• Provides a strong contribution on the preparation, review and implementation of the Institute's strategic plan.

• Any other duty that may be assigned by the Director General.
